REACH-SCIP Declarations
Declarations concerning Regulation (EC) no. 1907/2006 - REACH and SCIP Notification
When we talk about Reach Regulation we refer to the EC Regulation n. 1907/2006, called “REACH” (from the acronym “Registration, Evaluation, Authorization of Chemicals”) and concerning the registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemicals.
In particular, it is required by art. 33 of the REACH Regulation that item suppliers must communicate to users the presence or absence of SVHC substances listed in the Candidate List if contained in concentration greater than 0.1% (by weight).
The substances indicated with the acronym SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern), are those substances that have very serious and often irreversible effects on humans and the environment, such as for example Carcinogenic, Mutagenic, Toxic substances for reproduction.
Producers and importers of items that contain SVHC substances in Candidate List in concentrations greater than 0.1% by weight must also notify such items within the ECHA portal, in the SCIP database, by making the so-called SCIP Notification.
